Responding to Quotations
by Pattie Reitz,
Staff WriterSometimes all it takes for inspiration is the
inspiring words of others. Here are a few quotations with writing
prompts for your journal or freewriting session. Write away!
“Do not allow fear of what if to ruin the joy
of what is.” ~ Melody Beattie ~
Write about a time when you were afraid to do
something but went ahead and did it anyway. What would you have
missed out on if you had not done what you were afraid of?
“It is only with the heart that one can see
rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
~ Antoine de Saint-Exupéry ~
What do you feel is essential?
“No one can make you feel inferior without your
consent.” ~ Eleanor Roosevelt ~
Respond to the truth or falsehood that this
quotation represents to you.
“If you ask me what I come to do in this world,
I, an artist, will answer you:
I am here to live out loud.” ~ Emile Zola ~
What does “living out loud” mean for you?
"There is no pleasure in having nothing to do;
the fun is having lots to do and not doing it!"
~ Mary Little ~
Do you agree with this statement? List all the
things that you have to do but are avoiding.
