Our Editors

Julia Temlyn

Julia Temlyn, Editor-in-chief

(View posts by Julia)

Julia is the owner of Temlyn Writing, where she works diligently with clients to rescue excess apostrophes, save spliced commas, and repair injured & abused words, as well as bring healing through writing.  She also enjoys and offers social media management, including online community managing & moderating services.

Additionally, she is the editor of Musical Reviewer and Writers Remember, and administrator of the Houston Writers & Editors Network. She blogs occasionally at Mrs. Write Right, Word Therapist.

Julia has always been passionate about the written word, and has literally been writing and editing since she could read, but she didn’t consider it for a career until she fell in love with the English department after trying out two other majors first (vocal music and communications). She journeyed through college both reading and writing about some of the best literature ever written, and getting graded for it — a dream come true! All the while she moderated an IRC chatroom where she met the man who would later become her husband. Four years and a bachelor’s degree later she graduated and got married, began freelancing as a writer, editor, and moderator not long after, and has been doing it ever since!

A native of New York and Central Florida, Julia currently resides outside SW Houston, Texas, with her incredible husband of seven years and their two goofy cats. She loves going to the theatre to see the latest musicals in town; she also enjoys singing (in choir and at home with a hairbrush), geocaching, sipping tea, watching a good movie, and spending time with her husband and family & friends.

Pattie Reitz

Pattie Reitz, Assistant Editor

(View posts by Pattie)

Pattie blames her dad for her love of words. She’s been reading and writing since childhood, and loves the smell of books. She used to save her allowance to buy books, and remembers coveting purple pens at the office supply store. All of this word-love led to her original career choice of English teacher, which she did for over ten years.

In addition to her work at Writers Remember, Pattie reviews for the Christian Fiction Blog Alliance and writes about books at Bookworm’s Nook on Dot Com Women’s network of blogs. She is also a member of American Christian Fiction Writers. Pattie has had a few pieces published, both in print and online. She occasionally freelances as a proofreader and editor. Pattie also serves as a moderator on the Women at Home message board and writes the occasional blog article for the military wives support group Wives of Faith.

She is the proud wife of an Air Force chaplain and mother of two girls, ages 12 and 9.

Kevin Kilgarriff is a writer and Recruitment Advertising Account Executive. He’s been writing forever (yes, since the beginning of time!), but didn’t choose to share his work recent years. His goal at Writers Remember is to share his experiences with other writers, and to hopefully help them through the trying times that a writer can encounter.

His childish jokes are unrivaled and his vast collection of useless information, which he swears will one day be fully utilized, continues to grow exponentially.

Kevin lives in Warrington, PA, just outside of Philadelphia, with his wife and their daughter.

Shail Raghuvanshi has been a freelance writer for the past several years. What started off as a passion for poetry gradually moved towards story writing and article writing. Writing is what makes her feel alive! Nature, society, and people inspire her to write from the heart. Life to her is one huge spherical miracle with faith playing a vital role in it.

She loves reading, writing, and listening to music. She loves animals. Having a good laugh with friends is something she enjoys immensely.

Sarah Reede

Sarah Reede loves to write but detests writing about herself. By day Sarah works as a teller for a Pacific Northwest bank; by night she is a Health Activist for WEGO Health, connecting patients with experts using social media. Sarah also keeps an active Women’s Health blog.

Looking to earn her Master’s in public health education at the University of South Carolina this fall, Sarah hopes to save the world from HIV/AIDS - or at least educate women on how to prevent the transmission.

When Sarah’s not working or planning her cross-country move, she enjoys spending time with her church family, reading biographies and watching trashtastic reality TV.

Heather Roemer

Heather Roemer

Heather Roemer enjoys writing immensely. She started writing poetry in 1994, when she wrote her first poem as part of a 7th grade school project. Not surprisingly, she has enjoyed writing ever since, and has written more than 200 poems. She gets inspiration from many things: songs, quotes, and of course, her life.

She loves learning, and has taken some online writing classes at Delaware Tech, and looks forward to many publishing opportunities.

When she’s not writing, Heather loves spending time with her husband, Christian, and her service dog, Biscuit. She also enjoys cooking and music.

Heather Truett is a youth minister’s wife, mom to two and stepmom to one, living in North Mississippi, birthplace of Elvis. She is not only a writer, but also an avid reader. Her husband thinks she reads more than is truly healthy, but cannot persuade her of this possibility, because it simply cannot BE a possibility. She is actively involved in her church through youth ministry, media ministry and small groups for women.
